Our Lady of Victories, Southwell
and Saint Anthony, Calverton

Ministries & Administration
In both of our churches we are well blessed in that so many of our parishioners, both young and old, do indeed consecrate themselves to both the service of our parish and of our Lord. No lists such as this can be finite but those listed by name below offer regular and tangible evidence of their ministry.
SAFE-GUARDING
The Parish of Our Lady of Victories and St Anthony's is committed to the Safeguarding Policies of the Catholic Church in England and Wales, to protect children, young people and vulnerable adults from any form of abuse or maltreatment and to promote a safe environment for them. This commitment flows from the fact that we are all made in the image of God and the Church’s common belief in the dignity and uniqueness of every human life. We will liaise closely and openly with statutory agencies to ensure that any concerns or allegations of abuse that are raised are promptly reported and properly investigated, victims supported and perpetrators held to account.
Our Safeguarding Representative for Our Lady of Victories is Peter Bird. If you have a concern please contact him on (07816) 834411.
Our Safeguarding Representative for St Anthony's, Calverton Michael Wilkes. If you have a concern please contact him on 0115 9665277 .

PLANNED GIVING & ‘GIFT AID’
Our parish operates a ‘planned giving’ scheme whereby parishioners determine how much they wish to give to the church weekly. They then make a pledge for that amount and are provided with envelopes in which to put their weekly offering. This scheme enables financial planning to be done in advance with a, by and large, known income.
Tax paying parishioners are are also asked to participate in a government sponsored ‘gift aid’ scheme whereby income tax they have paid on the amount they give can be reclaimed by the church as a registered charity.
HIDDEN MINISTRIES
Many ‘hidden’ ministries exist which are both helpful, necessary and important to the smooth running of our churches and their liturgies. These include such tasks as cleaning, laundering linens, polishing brasses, Newsletter preparation, arranging flowers, special decorations for Festivals, tidying church grounds, making coffee after Mass, doing minor repairs etc. Anyone wishing to volunteer will be made welcome.
